Massive historical monuments - ancient engraved stones

Most monuments of today are made from lots of part combined and put together. Old school had completely different approach - giant sculptures were made on the place out of one piece of rock. Ancient monuments were actually parts of a mountains, giant engraved stones, real masterpiece! It is incredible how these historical monuments were made without any modern technologies!

  1. Awesome picture and wondering where in the world it is? I recently woke before dawn to travel to an ancient monuments to take pictures as the sun rose above Castlerigg Stone Circle within the Lake District National Park, near keswick. The history about the place can be felt when you walk around, and the plus thing here is that it is free to visit.
